Joy the Baker Cookbook Project

So my baking twin Danielle and I were super excited about the release of the new Joy the Baker Cookbook, as evidenced by this screenshot from our Google chat last weekend. We spent about an hour going through the book and bookmarking everything we want to make. Let’s just say I ditched the post-its pretty fast, because they were ending up on every other page. Since Danielle doesn’t have a blog (she should!), this is where we’re going to keep track of everything we’ve made. I can guarantee this entire book will be baked in no time – Dani’s already made like five things. I need to catch up!

First our lists of the Top 10 things we’re excited to make – in order of excitement!

Byn’s Top 10

  1. Chocolate Cookies & Cream Pudding (Q2)
  2. Chocolate Fudge Brownies with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting (Q2)
  3. Browned Butter Peanut Butter Crispy Rice Treats
  4. Peanut Butter Birthday Cake
  5. Coffee Vanilla Ice Cream Pie (with a meringue crust!!!) (Q2)
  6. Chocolate Bundt Cake with Chocolate Sour Cream Glaze
  7. Texas Sheet Cake (I’m obsessed with Texas lately, blame Taylor Kitsch) (Q2)
  8. Peach Cobbler Muffins (Q2)
  9. Mommom’s Chocolate Bourbon Spiked Banana Bread
  10. Baked Chili Cheese Fries (one savoury recipe for good measure :)

Note: Chocolate & Salty Peanut Butter Ice Cream would have been on the list, but I outsourced it to Dani because she has the ice cream attachment for her Kitchenaid. She also got assigned anything in a cast iron skillet.

Dani’s Top 10

  1. Banana Coconut Cream Pie
  2. Chocolate Brownie Cookies with White Chocolate & Roasted Macadamia Nuts
  3. Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
  4. Toasted Coconut Dutch Baby with Banana & Pineapple (Q3)
  5. Oatmeal Raspberry Ginger Scones
  6. Chocolate & Salty Peanut Butter Ice Cream

  8. Buttermilk Skillet Cake with Walnut Praline Topping (Q3)
  9. Dad’s Perfect Sweet Potato Pie with No-Roll Crust (Q3)
  10. Cheddar Chive & Jalapeno Biscuits

Of course, we are not just limiting ourselves to these lists. For example, if I get invited to a brunch, I will obviously be bringing the Brown Butter Blueberry Muffins or Giant Cinnamon Rolls with Buttermilk Glaze.

So here we go!
